Pigment Sale Details

Below are the pigments that are available for purchase and this is a complete list minus the

afore-mentioned Anna's Art Asylum pigments and my SpectraFlair. As I can use my glitters and flakes for things outside of polish making, I have decided not to include these either. Most of these pigments can still be purchased by the ounce or sample from the original companies- TKB Trading, The Conservatorie and Coastal Scents but some are discontinued and this is noted below as it applies.

Coastal Scents samples are, average, $1.00 each for a teaspoon (appx. 1 gram)

The Conservatorie samples are, average, $0.95 each for a teaspoon (appx. 1 gram)

TKB Trading samples are, average, $1.50 each for 6 grams (appx. 4 teaspoons). In the past they sold 1 tablespoon, approximately 12 grams, for the same price.

TCP Global does not sell samples.

I intend to make a small profit, not take a loss, but my prices will be based on what I paid originally, not what these pigments go for currently. I plan on shipping via the Postal Service, a cheaper method whereas all three pigment companies usually ship Fed Ex or UPS. This means you save on shipping if you bought from me versus if you decided to buy directly from any of them. I will also state that I am a bargain hunter to the core and so those materials I choose to package and ship with will not become a huge cost for you to absorb. The baggies I will probably use to package individual pigments in would add roughly $0.10 each, the same as what I will pay for them. If I find them cheaper, the savings, however small, will be passed on to you. The same will be true for the envelopes/bubble mailers.

While I cannot use the Postal Service's shipping calculator without a destination zipcode and an approximate package weight to estimate a shipping charge, I am guessing based on prior smaller packages I've mailed that it may be around $4.00-$5.00 but that had included delivery confirmation and insurance which are optional services from the Postal Service.

All payments will go through PayPal.

Over the course of the day, I'll be going through this list and adding links to the swatches on my blog (you can find these now by using the tags or doing a search on this blog), whether they are interference or duochrome pigments. After that I'll be working on individual prices. so please check back. -MK

Tentative Pigment Sale

I got a lot of feedback from you all, my lovely audience, regarding my pigment collection. I'm not selling everything I own but it is definitely time to scale down the size- in the title I used the word "tentative"  only because I need to gather a few supplies to begin such as bags, mailing envelopes, perhaps something more substantial than a hand scale... I made up my mind about the sale, just hadn't worked out all the details.

In the meantime, you can help speed up the process by giving me an idea of what sort of prices would be considered reasonable and what amounts you'd be interested in because in truth, I have no idea what I'm doing! I have ounces of most, minus what I've used, so I'm negotiable to a point. I'm thinking 3 gram lots, 5 grams? Obviously, I know what the samples go for when purchased directly from the companies, as well as their shipping rates, rates I see no reason to go with. Whatever I shipped would go through the Postal Service with tracking and insurance.

As far as what pigments are up for grabs, everything I own is swatched on this blog and just about everything is for sale. I'll have to exclude of the duochromes from Anna's Art Asylum (I have only a few grams of these myself) and my precious SpectraFlair for the same reason. If you have a question about a specific pigment, ask me.

Long Time Gone

Maybe I owe an explanation for my absence and maybe I don't but I'm going to explain anyway.

I've updated nothing, I respond to very few questions and comments and while I feel somewhat bad for that, I don't feel bad enough to do anything about it. For a long while, this was a passion that I dedicated many hours to research and creation and perhaps still serves some purpose as a reference but I have zero desire to give anything further to it. There was a time I felt a need to log in every day and do something work-wise here, share something but that time has passed and I've no idea when it may return to me. Not to mention I'm totally out of touch with anything and everything new polish & franken related so what's to share?

On a somewhat related note, I've got a load of Coastal Scents, TKB Trading and The Conservatorie pigments I don't need a freaking ounce of if anyone wants to purchase any. If no one is interested, that's fine too, they can continue to sit in my closet.

MK's Jewelry Store Opening

I have news that is not quite news as there has always been a link to my other site but if I don't promote myself, I'm evidently not going to get anywhere so... My jewelry store is now open, over on Angelfire where the site has been re-vamped and updated (I'm only paying fees to PayPal this way) and although I've still got plenty of work to do, everything is operational. If my work garners enough interest, I may open a store on Etsy later on down the road but that's much later.

Anonymous Comments

Like any blogger, I love receiving comments and to encourage that, I removed the word verification a couple months ago because I realized how annoying it is. I don't moderate the comments left either except for those that Blogger flags as spam and these are most often compliments with a suspicious link left by anonymous users which I do not like. Until recently, the anonymous comments were harmless and not a problem but every day it seems one is now flagged. If you want to leave a compliment, suggest something, ask a question or even add a link to your own blog, I'm fine with that, I may even check it out... but from now on, you'll have to do it with an account, OpenID, Google, whatever. -MK
